The annual feast of St Jerome every September 30 brings to the collective memory of the Divine Word Missionaries in Congo the foundation of the Center for Biblical Apostolate in Bandundu that fell on the same day in 1971.
Msgr Gaspard Mudiso SVD, who was then a young priest, with other fellow Divine Word Missionaries, founded the Center for the Biblical Apostolate. This year marks the 50 years in the priesthood of Msgr Mudiso.
Now Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Kenge, having completed 20 years of service as the Local Ordinary, Msgr Mudiso with Fr Valerian D’Souza SVD and Fr Michel Manga SVD gave Basic Bible Seminar last November 3, 2018.
Only 30 persons came the first day, but the following day, the number has doubled. An amazing sign that indeed, we have Catholics committed to the Divine Word.
La célébration de saint Jérôme nous rappelle le Centre pour l’Apostolat Biblique fondé à Bandundu en avril 1970 formellement constitué en sa fête le 30 septembre 1971.
Parmi ses cofondateurs était le jeune P. Gaspard Mudiso, SVD, maintenant évêque émérite de Kenge, dont le 50e anniversaire de sacerdoce a été célébré le 8-12-2018, après avoir servi le diocèse de Kenge pendant 20 ans.
Toujours dévoué à l’Apostolat Biblique, notre évêque émérite a récemment donné un Séminaire Biblique de Base ensemble avec le P. Valerian D’Souza, SVD organisé par le P. Michel Manga, SVD.
Le premier jour, une trentaine de participants sont venus. Le jour suivant le nombre a augmenté au lieu de diminuer – signe d’attachement de nos chrétiens à la Parole de Dieu.
