The SVD mission station in Rio Ruba is at the tip of Palawan Island 1035 kms from Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
On the feast of Sto Nino (Philippines) January 20, 2019, Bishop Soc Mesiona during a solemn Eucharistic celebration elevated the SVD mission station into a Parish and installed its first parish priest, Fr Adrian Usman SVD.
The SVD mission station was established by Fr Atilano Corcuera SVD in 1998 to serve the pastoral needs of the growing christian communities drawn by the mining concessionaires in the locality.
