Fr Budi Kleden, the SVD superior general and delegates from various SVD mission areas in Africa gathered in Kinshasa, Congo for a zonal meetings this February 21-25, 2019 to discuss common concerns relating to pastoral works and services in the continent.

The participants came from different countries where Divine Word Missionaries have pastoral presence. These countries include: Ghana, Togo, Benin, Chad, Kenya, Tanzania, Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Madagascar, and Zambia.

As Divine Word Missionaries whose life centre on the Word of God, all meetings open with Bible Sharing, a communal reflection on the Word of God.
Representatives from various countries presented a report of the pastoral activities in their mission area. Responsible persons on specific services such as Biblical Apostolate, Mission Animation, Communications, and Justice & Peace also shared actives in their respective concerns.
In the opening day, Fr Willy Moka SJ gave a lecture on the theme: Renewal as Religious in the African Context, and the SVD superior general Fr Budi Kleden SVD, addressed the assembly.
